Hey All! I am just a little confused as to why the airfares are so different . for example if I fly from TYS(tn.) to OKC in april its only 274.00 a person -if I book now but if I want to book now for say the first week of october its 472.00 a person. which is like 945.00 for two in october %26amp; 629.00 for two people in april. so if october is so far away why is it more? is it because the weather is bad in april %26amp; good in october? or what? Ive always found the earlier I book a flight the chaeper it is but not in this case anyone know why?
Thanks!

why are airfares so different?
Booking an airline fare more than 6 months in advance rarely results in the lowest price and will often result in full-fare rates. The same can be said for Hotels and Car rentals.
Usually booking between 3 weeks and 3 months will result in lower fares than either later or earlier booking. (At one time you could actually get a really low fare if you booked within 3 days of the flight, but with the elimination of so many flights that no longer seems to be the case.)
Of course, none of the general rules apply when there are special deals offered.

Thanks for the help in understanding!
