Hi We will be travelling to Oklahoma end of Nov for a horse show at the Fairgrounds. It would be nice to have a pool for the children. I have booked the Comfort Inn Suites Hotel on Meridian as it has a pool. I have also booked the Saddleback Hotel as well (out door pool!!) Does anyone have any feedback positive or negative about these hotels. We stayed at the Biltmore last year and had mice!
Thanks
Judy

Here are the Tripadvisor traveler reviews on the Comfort Suites.

I have driven by the hotel many times, but have never stayed there or been inside. It looks fine on the outside, though it is right on I-40 and may be a little noisy.
The Saddleback Inn a couple of blocks north of I-40. Here is a link to its reviews:

Both are very convenient to the Fairgrounds and both are in a very busy part of the city - located just a few hundred yards from each other as they are. As the Saddleback is north of I-40 it will be slightly easier to get to the Fairgrounds from there than from the Comfort Suites. But the Comfort Suites has an indoor, heated pool. I seriously doubt the outdoor pool at the Saddleback will be open this time of the year, so if a pool is important...
Good Luck!

Thanks so much for your quick reply and all the info. We have a few friends who have stayed at the Saddleback and really liked it so I think that is the way we will go for this year. I think I will take a look at a couple of hotels with indoor pools while we are there. We are really looking forward to the trip. Try and keep the temperature in the 60%26#39;s for us!
Thanks again.
Judy
Temps for the next 7 days are supposed to be all over the place - from 49 on Saturday 11/15, to 71 tomorrow 11/13. After that they show mid 50%26#39;s to low 60%26#39;s during the day and upper 20%26#39;s to mid 30%26#39;s at night.
No guarantees after that!
:)
Enjoy your stay!
We%26#39;ll do our best on those temps! Let us know if we can help with anything else. Saddleback seems like a good choice.
You might check out the Holiday Inn just about a mile south of Saddleback on Meridian. I drive by it each day and although the property has been there at least 10 to 15 years they have been doing what seems to be extensive remodeling to it for the past several months.
I know the indoor pool there has long been one of the best in OKC.
If you decide to check the Holiday Inn, call the location direct to see how the construction is going. I know I hate it when I%26#39;m in a hotel and the construction interferes with my stay.
:)
I was going to suggest the Hilton Garden Inn on the SW corner of I40 and Meridian (the saddleback is on the NE corner) but I just called it and they don%26#39;t have an outdoor pool- only indoor- and trust me- if it wasn%26#39;t closed before today, it is now!
It got down to 25 degrees F last night.
But yes, the Holiday Inn on the west side of Meridian, south of I40 is very nice, my cousins stay there when they come to town- and it is older, but it%26#39;s kept up, and it%26#39;s has a terarium type of feel, with all the doors opening to the inside of the hotel around a central courtyard.
Personally, I wouldn%26#39;t book someone at the Saddleback, because it is RIGHT on top of I40, but I%26#39;ve never been in it to have any other opinions about it. They just always hang a banner over the cinderblock wall that is between the parking lot and I40 around Valentines Day for a dinner and room special...
Thanks everyone for your help and hotel suggestions.
We had a great 2 week stay in Oklahoma the end of November and beginning of December. The weather was a bit cool, but the temperatures back home in Canada were below zero so we weren%26#39;t complaining haha. The Saddleback Hotel worked out fine for us. Our main concern was being close to the fairgrounds and it was. The hotel is on the older side but has had some renovations to the rooms. The hotel also offers a complimentary full breakfast buffet that includes everything from fresh fruit to pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausages. The staff was very, very friendly and accomodated all out needs. There are 3 computers in the main lobby and all business needs could be met. Each morning after our room was cleaned someone came by with a clipboard to check off that everything had been done. The only down side to this hotel for us was that it did not have an indoor pool and that the only entrance to our room was from the outside. Now that we have had a chance to get our bearings in OK we may book one of the other hotels suggested, however the Saddleback was so accomodating and friendly that we may return. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Judy
