Horrible Experience at Enid, Ok Comfort Inn

I%26#39;m a female... a former flight attendant and a frequent business traveler.

I need a safe room when I travel. I arrived about 9 p.m. on a Sunday night. Despite having a reservation, there were no interior entry rooms. It%26#39;s not safe for a woman to stay in a place where just anyone can walk up to the door and enter. I finally convinced the front desk clerk of my safety need and she gave me a room with an indoor entry. The best she could give me was a ground floor room (which we flight attendants consider dangerous.)

She charged my company $20 dollars extra a night for that upgrade after telling me it would be no extra charge.

The fitness center was a small room in a remote, dark part of the hotel. It%26#39;s the kind of place where a woman could easily be attacked and no one would even hear her scream. That was unnaceptable, as well. I had to buy a week-long membership to the local gym. I wasn%26#39;t happy about that, on top of the upgrade fees, my stay cost an additional $150. That%26#39;s not right!

Then there%26#39;s the incident with the maid. Imelda was cleaning the hotel entrance which wasw entirely made of glass. As I approached the door, she raised the can of window cleaner and when I walked through it, she sprayed my face. I dropped what I was carrying as I automatically protected me eyes. She had the gall to laugh about it as I walked away from her.

Manager Mary Hornberger promised to take care of the situation, but this same maid was caught in my room a couple days later.

She threw some of my things in the trash and failed to clean the hair and soap out of the tub.

Overall, I would discourage anyone from staying at the Enid Comfort Inn Midwestern Square. The service was horrible, the hotel was unsafe and old, and the manager provided less than satisfactory customer service.

Yes, my dad has warned me not to stay at that place as well. Unfortunately, there really aren%26#39;t too many choices in a small town of 50,000. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express if you need to stay in the city, otherwise press on to OKC or Tulsa.

I am in Enid for six weeks. I foud the Maple Place Bed and Breakfast and it is so great. Pleasant surroundings, quiet, walking distance from downtown, great hosts. And the price is right. I highly recommend it.
