Grand Lake

Our timeshare company has a fairly new property at Grand Lake/Afton on ';Monkey Island';. We haven%26#39;t been there yet, but may stop and stay a day or two on the way home from vacation this summer. Any info. that anyone can give me on Grand Lake and the Monkey Island/Afton area??

Grand Lake

I used to live in the area and spent quite a bit of time on Monkey Island. I haven%26#39;t been there in a while but I%26#39;m sure things haven%26#39;t changed. It%26#39;s a nice area with good golfing (Shangri-la, coves) Has a pretty good night scene too and nice restaurants. The traffic in Grove can get pretty bad but you really don%26#39;t need to even go into town unless you just want to. Everyone%26#39;s pretty friendly on the lake. Alot of people tie their boats up at Dripping Springs or some of the other coves. Lots of restaurants that are accessible by boat also!

Grand Lake

Thanks Jewwells10! Our resort is right next to the Shangri-la(sp?) resort. We are booked for a couple nights, so are looking forward to checking it out. We might want to pull our little boat down to Grand Lake sometime to take out on the lake.

Check out Anna%26#39;s Bananas Bistro on Monkey Island, in a shopping center next to the Grand Lake Airport. They have great food.
