Last time I was through Norman (in February 09) I noticed that a new hotel is being built just south of Riverwind - not the one that is attached to the casino, but just southeast of the casino on I35 - does anyone know what type of hotel this is going to be, and when it will be open?
New Hotel South of Riverwind Casino?
I%26#39;ve talked to several friends that go to Riverwind and they are familiar with the site you are talking of, but they have not seen any signs indicating what brand the hotel will carry.
One of them said the style of the building looked like it may be a Hilton Garden Inn.
If I find out anything else I will post it.
New Hotel South of Riverwind Casino?
Thanks so much - looking forward to hearing what hotel it will be!
I drove by the casino on 4/6. Two hotels are going up south of the casino itself.
The one closest to the casino doesn%26#39;t really look like anything I%26#39;ve seen lately, but I%26#39;d be surprised if it%26#39;s a Hilton Garden Inn; there%26#39;s a Hilton in Norman, about 5 miles north, and I%26#39;ve never seen two that close together. I%26#39;d be more inclined to guess Hampton Inn, but it%26#39;s a boxy looking place with no distinguishing features.
The more southern one, still on the edge of the casino lot, looks to be a Best Western or a Sleep Inn from its design. There%26#39;s a BW next to the other Chickasaw casino, so that%26#39;s probably a good bet.
Anything new on this hotel just south of Riverwind Casino - seems like it should be getting closer to being open by now...thanks!
The official casino hotel--which I presume is the more northern hotel that%26#39;s painted to match the casino--is open. You can book rooms at the Riverwind web page. I tried for a random Friday and found rooms starting at $119. The more southern hotel, which looks like a Best Western, still has no sign.
Thanks so much for the info - it is actually the more southern hotel that I am curious about - I don%26#39;t live there, so have just been relying on this forum to determine what it will be, and when it opens.
Thanks!
