Turner Falls?

Our family is planning a summer vacation at Turner Falls (Davis,OK) (My husband and I and four children ages 8,10,12,14)

I%26#39;ve been looking on the internet and was really surprised at the high prices for lodging (even for run-down cabins)

Does anyone have any information/recommendations for this area?

Turner Falls?

Hello our family tries to atleast go once a year to turner falls, this summer we will be staying at turner falls inn, they have private cabins and rooms for rent, they are reasonably priced and kept clean, but you have to bring your own food an cooking supplies other then that they are very well kept, but not too froofroo, they have a website....turnerfallsinn.com you should check them out.

Turner Falls?

My mother and I used to go there every March and stay for a week. We stayed in the little cabin across from the water-covered bridge. In fact, it%26#39;s the cabin pictured first on the website. It would be too small for you guys, it only has 2 full size beds. It was only $50 per day then! Now, I think it might be $75. Also, they now charge a per person per day fee even if you are renting a cabin inside the park! It is a wonderful place to go, but the price increases have kept us from going back. I would suggest staying somewhere nearby and then just spending your days in the park, especially since you have to pay the park fees daily anyway.

Also, you said you%26#39;re going in the summer. It will be SO CROWDED then and the people that seem to flock to Turner Falls these days are the kind that like to throw trash on the ground. It was really bad when me and my husband went a summer or so ago (we only live 20 miles from there). We even found a suitcase lying on the ground that someone apparently decided they didn%26#39;t need anymore. I personally wound not stay there in the summer because of the crowds. I%26#39;m not trying to poo-poo on your vacation idea, but I%26#39;d hate to see you spend all that money and then be disappointed!
